Daily Itinerary

DAY 1: Sunday, September 13, 2020, DEPARTURE

Norwegian has a nonstop flight from Newark to Barcelona. Though airfare is not included,
Celestial Voyagers can help book your ticket to Barcelona.

DAY 2: Monday,  September 14, 2020, BARCELONA (D)

Group transfer on arrival of Norwegian Airline. For other arrivals transfer to the hotel will be additional. Check-in at Hotel NH Calderon for 4 nights. Orientation guided tour in the afternoon.  Welcome dinner.

DAY 3: Tuesday,  September 15, 2020, Barcelona (B, L)

Cooking class after visiting LA BOQUERIA market. Work in teams, learn to cook typical Catalan recipes and enjoy your lunch. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

DAY 4: Wednesday, September 16, 2020, BARCELONA (B, D)

Gaudi and Catalan “Modernismo” day: visit the iconic Casa Batllo, the Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell, and el Palau de la Musica. End the tour with a restorative chocolate experience.  Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: Thursday, September 17, 2020, BARCELONA (B, L & Tapas)

Picasso & Miro Art Day: Walk through the “Barrio Gotico” and “El Born”. Visit Picasso Museum and Miro Foundation. Enjoy panoramic views at Montjuic and return to the seaside. Meet the chef at lunch at a local seafood restaurant. Free time in the afternoon; Tapas bar-hopping experience in the evening; Lights and Magic Fountains on Plaza de Espana; Flamenco show.

DAY 6: Friday, September 18, 2020, MON SANT BENET (B, L, D)

Departure to Mon Sant Benet and Manresa. Check-in at Hotel Mon for 2 nights. Proceed to the Kursaal Restaurant for a Taste of the Pilgrim's Cuisine.  Guided tour of Manresa. Demo workshop and dinner. Overnight at Hotel Mon.

DAY 7: Saturday,  September 19, 2020, MON SANT BENET (B, D)

Leave for Vic to explore the Saturday market. Learn about Vic’s renowned Salchichon and Fuet. Guided tour of Vic with  free time for lunch on your own. Return to Mon Sant Benet; visit the monastery; explore the life and work of Catalan painter Ramon Casas. Dinner at l”O”  a one star Michelin restaurant.

DAY 8: Sunday, September 20, 2020, GIRONA AND PALAMOS (B, L)

Board your coach for Girona. Walk through the city with your guide and discover Girona Jewish Heritage history. Lunch and free time before continuing  to Palamos. Check-in at Hotel Trias for 4 nights.
Evening at leisure.

DAY 9: Monday, September 21, 2020, PALAMOS (B, L)

Morning at leisure. At noon, a guided tour of the Museu de la Pesca followed by a cooking demo and lunch. As the fishermen return, witness the fish auction. Evening at leisure.

DAY 10: Tuesday,  September 22, 2020, PALAMOS (B, L)

Dali Day: Start in Figueres where Dali was born, then visit the Theater-Museum where he is buried. Continue for lunch in Cadaques where he lived. In Pubol see the castle he bought for his muse and wife, Gala.

DAY 11: Wednesday, September 23, 2020, PALAMOS (B, D)

Leave for Torrent and learn about fruit preserves at Museu de la Confitura. Proceed to Pals, known for its rice production, then to Mas Soller for wine tasting. Free time for lunch in Peratallada, a quaint hamlet with cobblestone streets, castle, shops and cafes. Farewell gala dinner in seaside Calella de Palafrugell.

DAY 12: Thursday, September 24, 2020, RETURN (B & Tasting Tour)

Transfer to Barcelona Airport (75 miles, 11/2 hour drive). On the way, enjoy your last tapas in Barcelona on a food tour with experts and multiple tastings before departing to the airport for check-in. Note that Norwegian Airlines departs Barcelona for Newark around 5:00 pm.
